Infants

Infants

6 weeks – 12 months

Our cozy infant room is designed to provide quality care and has ample space and material for your little one to learn and explore the work around them.

There will be no set schedule for this room because studies have shown that infants feel more secure and develop better in an environment with routines balanced with individual needs.  The Daily Schedule allows for parent and teacher input to best meet the needs of each individual infant throughout the day.  Red Rover Children’s Learning Center works to provide activities that lead them towards developmental milestones as they are ready.  Parents and teachers communicate pertinent information regarding each infant’s day through daily reports.  Daily activities include:

  • Small muscle activities (holding objects, tracking toys, feeding themselves, reaching for items, etc.)
  • Large muscle activities (sitting, standing, crawling, walking, rolling over, playing with balls, etc.)
  • Social activities (interacting with other infants and teachers, etc.)
  • Intellectual growth activities (verbal language, reading stories, singing songs, building with blocks, talking, interacting, etc.)
  • Emotional growth activities (providing security, building trust, meeting the needs of each child, creating a caring and nurturing environment, etc.)

Parents provide the following:

  • 3 changes of clothes in a sealed plastic bag labeled with child’s name
  • Disposable diapers
  • Diaper wipes
  • Diaper cream (if needed)
  • 3 plastic bottles
  • Formula (concentrate or powder) and/or *breast milk
  • Baby food (if needed)
